College of Natural Resources and Environmental Governance (NReg)

DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

At the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Governance (NREG), Development and International Trade Relations are integral to our mission of advancing sustainable economies, strengthening governance systems, and enhancing livelihoods across Ghana and the wider African continent. In a world where natural resources are deeply intertwined with global trade and economic growth, the ability to understand and navigate the connections between development, commerce, and environmental stewardship has never been more critical.

NREG recognizes that today’s development challenges demand professionals who can bridge the gap between policy, markets, and sustainability. Our programmes therefore equip students with the analytical tools, global perspectives, and governance frameworks needed to shape fair, resilient, and environmentally responsible trade systems.

By studying at NREG, students position themselves at the forefront of conversations shaping Africa’s role in global markets—ensuring that natural resource wealth contributes not only to economic progress but also to social well-being and ecological integrity.
